Eat

Downtown Lexington’s food scene is thriving. From traditional southern fare to upscale tapas, you can always find something to satisfy your cravings. We love Buddha Lounge for their belly filling bento boxes, and their late-night noodle menu. Head to Carson’s Food and Drink, where they provide chef-driven recipes that combine rustic refinement with classic Kentucky elegance. Down on the corner, Corto Lima boasts Latin food and flare with a modern interpretation, and Minglewood will even top some of their global influenced cuisine with CBD. If you are downtown for a workday lunch, dinner date, or a late-night snack, we know you won't be disappointed. Three words – Beer and Bourbon. Downtown Lexington has quite a few amazing craft beer breweries as well as our very own Distillery District, which does its job at highlighting the rich bluegrass tradition of Bourbon. Swing by Goodfellas for a pour of Four Roses Small Batch and a slice or grab a house made Cloud Candy IPA from next door at Ethereal Brewing Co. If late night is your thing, downtown has you covered. Gaze upon the wall of Bourbon at Belle’s Cocktail House, and relax on their scenic rooftop till 2 a.m., or head down the street to The Roxy for a modern speakeasy vibe. We have dive bars, upscale cocktail houses and tons of live music, all within walking distance.

There’s always something fun to do downtown. Enjoy the energy that surrounds the UK Wildcats Men's Basketball team when they play at Rupp Arena, or take a stroll through Triangle Park, home to an outdoor ice-skating rink in the winter and a pop-up movie theater in the summer. The Fifth Third Bank Pavilion is an open-air event space in the middle of Downtown that features Thursday Night Live (a weekly concert series in warmer months) and the Saturday morning Lexington Farmers Market. The newly revamped Victorian Square also boasts a fantastic assortment of shops, restaurants, galleries and even a children's museum!
